Candle Burning Guide
The candles at Wick & Spice are made using soy wax, which is a natural vegetable wax. Because of this, it is prone to some aesthetic irregularities that other wax types, such as paraffin wax, are not. Some of the more common irregularities are a frosted top or a rough, cratered top, before or after burning. These characteristics will not affect the quality of the candle’s burn or fragrance; it is a purely aesthetic abnormality that may occur as a result of using natural wax.
To ensure a safe and pleasant experience while using your candle, please observe the following tips.

Wick Trimming
Keep wicks trimmed to ¼ inch before every burn to avoid large flames, excess soot, or black smoke.

Melted Wax Pool
Burn long enough (about 2 hours) for the pool of wax to melt all the way to the edge of the container. Otherwise, there will be unused wax left on the edge of the container even after the wick is burned down.

Burn Time
Burn for no longer than 4 hours. Longer burn times can leave carbon deposits at the tip of the wick, resulting in black smoke.

Candle Location
Always supervise your candle when it is burning and keep it away from other flammable objects. If burning multiple candles, space them at least 3” away from each other.

Between Burns
Keep the lid on the candle when it is not burning. This helps preserve the quality of the candle until the next burn.

Candle Storage
Store the candle on a room-temperature surface. Leaving the candle on a warmer surface, such as a stovetop, can hurt the burning experience as heat from the oven or stove can cause the wax to melt.
